The Overwhelm of Too Many Choices
Do all these choices make your brain feel like it’s on overload? Do you often find yourself stuck, unable to decide because the options seem too muddled, or you’re unsure how they might impact you?
It’s like trying to tune into a radio station, but all you hear is static. You might be listening for answers, but too often, it’s that pesky critical voice chiming in, reminding you of your perceived failures or what you’re lacking in life.
If that’s the voice you hear, it’s definitely not the one you want to be following. More often than not, this voice echoes the judgments of those who shaped your early years—parents, teachers, or anyone who had a significant influence on you.
Silencing the Inner Critic
If you’re particularly sensitive to energy—like a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) or an empath—this inner critic can drown out your own voice, overshadowed by the wants and needs of those around you.
These external influences can be so loud that you struggle to hear your own quiet guidance—the still, small voice that knows exactly what your soul craves.
You may feel torn between these conflicting voices, and it can be tricky to discern which is which.
Pros and Cons Don’t Work for Me. What about you?
No matter how I go about it, doing a list of pros and cons leaves me feeling anxious and muddled. If it does help me reach a decision, I often feel unsure and doubt myself.
The technique I’m about to share with you takes decision-making out of your mind and adds other tools to the process, such as your emotions and physical reactions. When you feel the answer in your mind, body, and heart, it’s much easier to be sure of the decision you make
Tuning into Your Soul’s Voice
The small voice within you is your soul speaking (often called your higher self, intuition, or guides). This voice is always supportive and nurturing. It may not always say what you want to hear—it might steer you away from the wrong path or highlight changes you need to make. But here’s the key: it never criticizes. It simply encourages you to explore different directions.
Isn’t it interesting that we call it "the still small voice"? If it’s meant to support you, shouldn’t it be more vocal? What happens when it’s so quiet that you can’t hear it at all?
Many people tell me they don’t hear a voice at all, and that’s perfectly okay! Your soul has countless ways to communicate. Instead of a clear voice, you might experience a sense of knowing, a gut feeling, a sudden spark of inspiration, or a gentle nudge—each unique to you.
Unfortunately, that inner voice might not be as loud and clear as your favorite playlist, but there are ways to amplify its presence.
Another reason you might struggle to hear it is the whirlwind of thoughts racing through your mind, especially when stress or anxiety kicks in. The more those thoughts collide, the more your stress levels rise.
Your mind can spin in circles, generating endless questions, doubts, and worries. It can be downright chaotic!
Finding Clarity Amidst the Noise

So, how do you quiet the critical voice, soothe your stress and anxiety, and tap into the wisdom that’s patiently waiting for you?
Over the years, I’ve developed a technique that works wonders for me. It taps into the innate wisdom of your deeper self—your soul knows the answers and is eager to share them with you.
Give it a try! The more you practice, the more you’ll trust it, and the clearer and stronger it will become.
Find a quiet place where you can take a few minutes to experience this process.
The Body-Mind-Emotion Assessment Technique
1. Your Body: How does your body feel? Are you relaxed or tense? Do you have any pain? Are you tired or energized? Write down specifics to clarify your experience.
2. Your Emotions: What emotions are you feeling? Are you calm, happy, sad, angry, or anxious?
3. Your Mind: Count to ten and notice the pace of your thoughts. How fast are you counting? Is there a rhythm? Note anything that stands out.
Questions, Options, and Choices
- · Write down a couple of choices you need to make.
- · Take a few deep breaths to clear your mind.
- · Visualize yourself going through option #1, asking a question, or holding a gemstone you want to learn about. Use general questions like, “Will this benefit me?” or “Is this in my highest interest?”
- Take three deep breaths and release the question.
- Reassess your body, emotions, and mind. Write down your observations:
1. How does your body feel now? What has changed?
2. How are your emotions? What feels different?
3. Count to ten again. Did the speed or rhythm change?
Take a few more deep breaths.
1. Visualize each of the other choices, taking deep breaths between each.
2. Review your notes. Consider which choices made you feel energized, lighter, happier, calmer, or more confident.
3. Did any choice make your mind feel slow, spacey, or speedy?
You will likely notice a change in your responses with each visualization. The choice that positively impacts all areas resonates with your Still Small Voice, expressed through your body, emotions, and mind.
Putting It Into Practice
Using this technique to choose jewelry or stones can reveal how they interact with your energy and the benefits you receive. You can also set powerful intentions for assistance.
Example: If you’re giving a talk, set an intention that the Lapis Lazuli you wear will help you tap into your intuitive wisdom and communicate clearly. This process enhances how the stones support you and boosts your energy throughout the day.
If you feel unsure, fragmented, or conflicted, this method can help you connect with your more profound wisdom.
Here’s a personal example: I planned to move to Boston, had interviews, and received a positive Astrocartography report. Yet, I felt heavy and complicated about the move. After receiving a low job offer, I meditated and suddenly envisioned California. My body tingled with energy, and the heaviness lifted. Despite my initial reluctance to move there, I started applying for jobs and moved before securing one. Within ten days, I found a job and a free apartment for a time.
While my first job lasted only six months, I met lifelong friends and eventually found my dream job, where I spent five fulfilling years before getting married and moving to Wisconsin with my husband.
Remember, the Universe often reveals one step at a time. You won’t see the entire plan, but if you pay attention and act, things will work out.
Choosing Gemstones with Intention
You can use this technique for various decisions, such as moving, relationships, trips, jobs, or choosing the right gemstone.
The more you practice, the easier it becomes, and you’ll learn to trust yourself and the feedback you receive. Eventually, you’ll find answers readily available without needing to use this technique—this is a truly bodacious way to live.
Trust the Journey, One Step at a Time
The Universe typically provides one piece at a time. Trust that each step will appear as needed.
Use this method to embrace a more empowered phase of life, open to your wisdom and guided to your next step.
Happy Bodacious journeys.
